Harnesses
Guide
to buying a harness. Size is important, trying
out a harness in summer, in shorts and T shirt, this is England and you will probably have
flying suit and jumpers on when flying. We can't stress the importance of good back
protection, air bag or foam or both. Plenty of adjustment, even in your
early days you could be air-borne for an hour or two but only if you are
comfortable, a good lumber support is vital. For the reserve container
position talk to your instructor and other pilots most are now positioned
under the seat for easy access. |

| Helmets should be light, strong and certified to EN966. Make sure it fits well and will not slide off your head. Open or full face, is a matter of choice. Black can be hot in the summer. | |||||||||||||||||||
| The Reserve is your last chance when all else fails, designed to be simple and open fast, as most deployments are at low level. Repacked and checked once a year, has a life span of 10 years. Again make sure you purchase the correct size and check the certification - DHV - Afnor or CEN as recommended by the BHPA | |||||||||||||||||||
